Our Treatment Plan

Developmental and Rehabilitative Services offers four phases of care, and three of these phases deal with your physical therapy needs. They are as follows:

Each of these phases of care will be explained by your therapist and some of the most common treatment methods are found below.

Your physical therapy treatment will be based upon physician diagnosis, physician recommendation, and our evaluation. This combination allows our therapist at Developmental and Rehabilitation Services to individualize your treatment which may include but is not limited to the following:

Modalities are used to reduce pain, inflammation, and accelerate the healing process. Modalities used include: Ultrasound and Phonophoresis, Electrical Stimulation, TENS, Iontophoresis, Heat, and Ice.

These are specific interventions that will target areas which present with decreased flexibility, strength, mobility, balance, and performance.

Manual therapy is a “hands on” component to our program. The manual therapy approach includes joint mobilization, muscle energy, massage, and propriceptive neuromuscular facilitation. These techniques will improve mobility, flexibility, joint stability, strength, and reduce pain.

Our therapists at Developmental and Rehabilitative Services will educate all patients of his/her condition and rehabilitation prognosis. Education is also facilitated by the use of pictures and models to assist the patient to understand their condition or injury and the healing process.
